These tracks were improvised live in FL Studio using samples from a vast collection of sample banks.
Samples were picked not randomly, but according to various aesthetic criteria (tensity, psychoacoustics, etc.).
The whole Surrogate Sigma was obviously directly influenced by post-internet techno revival, especially by acts like Yen Towers, one of the kind that aims to give more profound discomfort to the listener by constant seeking of new approaches of form and expression.

Surrogate Sigma was as well influenced by my personal research of vaporwave and its origins and how its spirit starts to be present in non-vaporwave products more and more often.
Surrogate Sigma is much about the controversy between feeling and
formalism. Something like being based both on formal approach to, let's say, desired samples or waveforms, but then to filter them basing on senses or viceversa.
